Visions of Sugar-Plums Danced in Their Heads

December 6th, 2010

Richmond is so chock full of Christmas traditions, it’s difficult to pick just one thing each week to blog about during the month of December. This week, we are ecstatic to share that the Richmond Ballet will soon begin its traditional production of The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker is Central Virginia’s longest running Christmas Tradition. The Richmond Ballet is accompanied by the Richmond Symphony. They will serenade you with live music accompanying the ballerinas. The Holiday Classic of Clara and the Nutcracker will come to life at the Carpenter Center in Downtown Richmond. The Ballet uses amazing techniques to make you feel like you jumped right into the pages of the book. Falling snowflakes, a fifty foot dragon, and the land of sweets where the sugar plum fairies twirl. You won’t want to miss a second of this amazing production.

The Opening night starts December 10 and continues on to December 23. Certain shows offer a extra special treat if you have children attending with Clara’s Tea Party. Where you will enjoy tasty treats and tea with Clara and her fun friends, bring the camera to snap photos with your favorite characters.

Come enjoy the experienced dancers and musicians who put on an unforgettable performance, which will be sure to have sugar plum fairies dancing in your head.

See You Soon,
