Picasso at the VMFA

February 21st, 2011

The Virginia Fine Arts Museum is bringing an art lover’s favorite to Richmond as Pablo Picasso’s eight-decade career will be displayed for all to see from now till May 15.

This is a once in a lifetime experience with all artwork on loan from the Musée National Picasso in Paris. This renowned worldwide collection showcases unique pieces because they were personally set aside by Picasso himself so that he made sure his legacy was preserved, which include his most iconic pieces known to date.

The pieces in this special exhibit include artwork from his many different periods such as: the Blue Period, Rose Period, Cubism, the return to Classicism, Surrealism, and also his later work. The exhibit showcases the art that set the tone for his career in the early stages. This is also a personal collection with the artwork including portraits of his close friends, lovers, and artists.

We suggest browsing Picasso and the other many other collections available on display on the exclusive VIP Wednesday’s, which takes place every Wednesday of the month; tickets are $75 per person and will include unlimited access to the exhibition, music, imported and domestic cheeses with fresh fruits, breads and crackers and the Virginia Fine Art Museum’s signature wines.

Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity, book your visit today, and include Picasso on your list of to do’s.
