Restaurant Week is a staple in Richmond, happening every Spring and Fall to help the FeedMore Organization. Starting April 25th continuing through May 1st you can taste RVA’s local favorites and help out a much-needed charity.
Richmond Restaurant week was created by Aline Reitzer, Owner of Acacia a mid-town restaurant serving dishes with an emphasis on seafood and regional favorites, who found herself bombarded with donation requests. She modeled the Restaurant Week after those in New York City, but she added a charitable component with money going to the FreedMore, an umbrella organization for the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and the Community Kitchen. Now with thirty participating restaurants and with over $25,000 dollars raised in last fall’s Fundraiser, the Restaurant Week is here to stay.
During this week area chefs create a fixed three-course menu, for $25.11 per person with $2.11 donated to FeedMore. Restaurants range from wine bars, taverns, seafood, to traditional Southern, and much more. We suggest setting up reservations prior to insure you receive a good table. This is a perfect opportunity to taste test these local favorites, we hope to run into you!
