Rock the Block

‘Tis the season for block parties in Richmond! And Rock the Block in Richmond’s top parks is a perfect way to enjoy your summer season.

On July 20 at the lovely Robinson Park, and August 10 at the Spring Park Historic Site, the event kicks off at 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Robinson Park located in Henrico, Virginia, with a variety of playgrounds for the kids, basketball courts and picnic shelters. The Spring Park Historic Site is right off Lakeside Avenue; it is one of Richmond’s hidden park gems tucked back in a corner.

Each evening will feature a different band. In July, the Center Stage Band Inc. is a six-member ensemble that plays everything from Motown, R&B, Oldies, beach style music to the Top 40’s. The band also boasts an extensive set list from Madonna, Elvis to the Temptations. The John Moossa Band will play in August where they will bring their genre breaking attitudes to give a amazing performance with the sounds of funk, rock, and reggae.

During the evening, kids and adults alike can have some fun playing games and enjoying the giveaways with the contests. Face painting and arts and crafts will also be available. Food and drinks can be purchased from the concession stands. Admission is free and is a great event for everyone in the family.
