RVA RiverJam takes place on the historic Canal Walk every Saturday afternoon at 2pm. Instead of most concert series in Richmond, this one is especially for DJs. RiverJam was initially conceived by Matthew Davey, who called up a friend and asked if he wanted to go down to the canal walk and spin. And thus, the RVA RiverJam was born!
The evening features typically six DJs who spin for about an hour. All DJs are local, so you will experience the RVA flair of music. While in the Bottom, be sure to check out the Canal Cruise and the walk history tour available on the Canal Walk. There is also a wide variety of shops such as the furniture favorite La Difference and These Four Walls.
The event is free, and food and beverages are provided. Parking is available on Byrd Street and in a parking garage at Canal and Virginia Street. The event does encourage people to take the bus system called To The Bottom and Back. It is a bus system that runs regularly and is free, but does encourage any type of donations to keep the system running.
