Richmond Jazz Festival!

The Richmond Jazz Festival at Maymont is back for a second year and is sure to be a crowd pleaser again!

The Jazz Festival takes place at three different locations- the Hippodrome Theaterm a lovely new renovated addition to Richmond, the gorgeous CenterStage and the backdrop of the historic Maymont a 100-acre estate with gorgeous gardens and plenty of sites to see.

The majority of the festival will take place at Maymont, with Thursday’s activities taking place at the Hippodrome, Friday at CenterStage, and Saturday and Sunday at Maymont. The festival kicks off this Thursday, August 11, and continues on through the weekend until Sunday evening. The festival will boast a two stage set up as well as 20 local, national and international bands and artists. Although, it is called a jazz festival the musical themes will stretch much further to include: R&B, neo-soul, and other genres that will add another dimension to this fun filled festival. The artist most are anticipated to see is Robin Thicke, an International star and Grammy winner, that will be sure to drawl a large crowd.

Scheduled wine tastings from local vineyards and chefs will feature cooking demonstrations of international cuisine. Food vendors, a marketplace, bars, and a cigar lounge will be set up along the main road in Maymont for everyone to enjoy.  Tickets are available on the Richmond Jazz Festival at the Maymont website, with deals available for weekends passes.
