Taste of Italy!

September 1st, 2011

Now that we have all braved it through Hurricane Irene, we think its time for a little wining and dining and the perfect place to do that is at The Taste of Italy!

The Taste of Italy a wonderful full on Italian experience on September 10 at the Suntrust building located downtown in the Financial District. This is an extremely exclusive event that includes a seven-course dinner, paired with wine. The dinner is a traditional Italian fest that is overseen by Chef Mike Isabella and other local chefs of Richmond. If you are a true foodie and partake in a little bit of reality TV, such as Top Chef’s All Stars on Bravo you will recognize the name Mike Isabella as Season 8’s runner up!

A lucky Richmonder will receive the prestigious award of the Best Recipe chosen by no other than Chef Mike.  The lucky winner will receive a autographed copy of Chef Mike’s book “How to Cook Like a Top Chef.” The menu will include an extensive range of dishes to satisfy all taste buds including stuffed pasta and rockfish with Rappahannock oysters paired with Hanover tomatoes and braised fennel. The evening will conclude with a rather sinful tiramisu, a favorite for all Italian food lovers. During the event, an auction will take place with the proceeds along with proceeds from ticket sales will support the Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), which dedicates itself to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect in the Richmond area.

Tickets are available on the Taste of Italy website and are $250 or a person and $500 for a couple. If you are unable to attend but would love to support such an amazing cause that is helping the Richmond area children you can also send a donation. This event is sure to be a highlight of the fall season, and it one not to be missed!
