Best of 2011: Marisa and Dave!

January 9th, 2012

Today, we’re back with our Best of 2011 series, where we get to revisit some of our favorite weddings from last season. Today, we’re thrilled to share the wedding of Marisa and David, who married at the Mansion this past summer!

We chatted with Marissa about her inspiration for her wedding day, which was drawn from the Mansion itself as well as her family. Her favorite details from the day include her dress, which was from The Vineyard Collection of Priscilla of Boston, the Barbeque fare from White House Catering, her pink peonies bouquet and Historic Mankin Mansion.  It was evident from the onset that Marisa and Dave offer their guests personalized touches throughout the day. Everyone was touched when Marisa entered the ceremony area, being escorted by her mother. Later in the festivities, the guests enjoyed pie tarts of banana cream, coconut cream and chocolate mousse in lieu of a wedding cake.

As for her favorite moment, Marisa shares,

“Our wedding day was more than Dave and I could have ever imagined. Historic Mankin Mansion and our wedding planner, Meghan Ely, made the process of planning and the big day effortless. Our guests still talk about how beautiful this venue is.”

Now remember-this year’s blog series is going to be a bit different as each wedding will be featured on the Historic Mankin Mansion Blog and the top three posts with the most blog and Facebook comments will be selected as finalists.  Each wedding will receive one more feature and the one with the most Facebook and blog comments by the deadline will be the winner!  This year, we’re taking it up a notch as we will be hosting a contest along with it for a complimentary overnight room stay at the Mansion, as well as a gift certificate to one of Paula and Martin’s favorite restaurants in town.

So do you just adore Marisa and Dave’s wedding and want them to win? Simply comment on this blog post and let us know why you love this wedding so much. If you’d like to score an extra point for the couple if you visit our Facebook page and comment under the Facebook post in which we share this fabulous feature.

I loved Marisa and Dave’s wedding. I thought it said everything a wedding is suppose to say, love, joy, happiness. It was beautiful, from the ceremony to the reception, everything just flowed effortlessly throughout the event. Historic Mankin Mansion is a beautiful place to have a wedding, beautiful garden, old time charm what more could you ask for, I can see why Marisa and Dave chose to have their wedding here.

I am Marisa’s aunt and would have been thrilled to attend her wedding no matter where it would have been held, but the Mankin Mnasion site was beyond special. The grounds and mansion were in excellent condition and lent a very “southern” feel for those of us from up north. Last but not least was the special attention paid to us by the various wait staffs. Very accomodating.

Marisa and Dave’s wedding was absolutely wonderful. It was like a fairy tale wedding. Everything was perfect. Food was wonderful and very tasty. The house was beautiful; the grounds were magnificent. The wait staff was perfect. Always there, offering you appetizers, trying to make you comfortable and offer any kind of help you wanted. Marisa was absolutely beautiful; her dress was magnificent. You could see all the happiness all around. It was a perfect wedding. A wedding every girl would want. A lifetime of memories were made that day.

I was one of the lucky bridesmaids to honor Dave and Marisa on their beautiful and perfect wedding day. Not one detail was overlooked…not a single flaw in the entire day. The accommodations of the Mankin Mansion were top notch…it made for a stress-free bride and groom and allowed Marisa and Dave to sims enjoy their day as it was meant to be and the guests as well. Thank you for doing such an amazing job for my dear friend!
