Summer Inspiration Shoot

July 30th, 2012

We love swooning over beautiful inspiration shoots and when The Bride’s Café was trying to find a venue for their most recent shoot, we were ecstatic to be chosen! Watercolor tones were found throughout the shoot in the balloons, streamers and flowers. Oh and we can’t forget to mention the pink ombre cake!

This beautiful inspiration shoot was featured on both The Bride’s Café and in Reverie Magazine and we could not be more excited! We would like to say a big thank you to all of the wonderful vendors involved Anne Robert Photography, Janie Medley Flora Design, Dana FitzGerald, Momental Designs, Erick Nixon, JD Hobbs, Veronica Sheaffer Gowns, Nina Renee Designs, Classic Party Rentals of VA, Blackbird Bakery, Pottery Barn and Men’s Warehouse. Thank you for all you contributed to this beautiful inspiration shoot!

Wedding Trends From the Mansion Brides

July 20th, 2012

We love a creative bride and we get tons of them here at the Mansion, we thought we would share a few trends we love from our past weddings!

Tangerine Tango, the Pantone color of the year, is making its way into décor and wedding accessories and we couldn’t be happier! Katie and Dave incorporated the color throughout their wedding day and we especially like Katie’s orange and grey pumps and Dave’s orange striped bow tie.

Wedding gowns are a signature element for all brides- each and every one is distinctively different for each wedding we see. When we laid our eyes on Megan’s wedding gown all we could do was gasp, as this lovely gown is donned with texture and features ruffled layers that are simply to die for!

The vintage wedding trend is here to stay and we couldn’t be happier! Holly and Phillip chose the vintage, shabby chic theme for their Big Day and their reception tablescapes were perfection. Instead of using the typical vases to house flowers they chose to use teacups placed on matching saucers as well as silver teapots that were filled with to the brim with pink and white roses.

Pretty packaging and typography are all the rage in weddings from invitations to favors. Seth and Laura jazzed up their favor boxes by adding a catching tag line in a beautiful font along with using twine to tie on seating assignments to each box as well.

What trends are catching your eyes these days? Feel free to share in the comments!

Real Richmond Wedding: Katie and David!

July 4th, 2012

We here at the Mansion love a wedding full of whimsical details and love and Katie and David’s wedding had just that!

We knew this wedding was sure to be a show stopper when the bride told us her colors would be orange and blue. They incorporated the color combination throughout the wedding with little touches with the bride’s shoes, bowties, and place.

Grant and Deb Photographers captured the day of festivities check out their beautiful work below and also on their blog.

We would like to thank the couple for allowing us to be a part of their big day as well as Grant and Deb Photographers for sharing these gorgeous images!
