Happy Labor Day from Historic Mankin Mansion!

We hope you have a fun and safe holiday as you take this weekend off to relax. While summer is quickly coming to an end, we are getting very excited to get started in the fall working closely with our clients. This holiday is about all of the hard-working individuals who remain committed to their job each day. Today we would like to celebrate you and your endeavors, so thank you!

We would also like to express our appreciation  to those who work alongside us at the Mansion. Without you, these amazing weddings would not be possible, and we are so grateful for everything you do. Enjoy this day and thank you all for your service!

We had a fabulous time participating in the Richmond Wedding Experience in January, and now we cannot wait to once again be a part of this wonderful event on Sunday, August 25!

The Richmond Wedding Experience gives newly engaged couples the opportunity to experience today’s wedding trends in person. The event is located at the Greater Richmond Convention Center and will take place from 11am to 5pm. There will be a runway fashion show featuring the latest wedding styles for brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and grooms. Attendees will uncover new ideas for their dream wedding by having the chance to receive expert advice from local wedding professionals, as well as viewing the top trends in floral arrangements, tablescapes and cake designs. This event is without a doubt not one to miss and you will leave with more insight and ideas for your perfect wedding!

Tickets are available online and are $10 at the door. We hope to see you there!

Mad Hatter Richmond Wedding Inspiration

August 15th, 2013

Like most weddings, the world of the Mad Hatter is filled with whimsy, wonder and just a pinch of magic. This world recently came to life at the Mansion during IYQ Photography’s bridal inspiration shoot. Our life-size chessboard was perfect for the theme and the model’s tea-length dress made us swoon. Enter this whimsical world while taking a look at some of the pictures from the day.

Enjoy!

Real Richmond Wedding: Yvonne and Sasha

August 12th, 2013

Yvonne and Sasha’s wedding at the Mansion combined two different cultures into one beautiful event. The bride glowed in her wedding gown but what we really loved was the red stunner she changed into during the reception. The custom chuppah, which the couple married under, was also a Mansion favorite- just stunning!

Seth Roberts Photography did an amazing job capturing every detail of this wedding. What we really love is how each picture, no matter how simple, tells a story. A story about two different people coming together to create a new culture of their own.

Enjoy!

HMM In the News: Wedding Chicks

August 5th, 2013

We are beyond excited that Wedding Chicks featured the dramatic black and white wedding inspiration photo shoot that took place at Historic Mankin Mansion. Kimie James of IYQ Photography captured the theatrical elements of this black, white and gold two brides shoot. We love the decadent dessert table, avant-garde wardrobe pieces and of course the over sized chess board. Seek inspiration from this photo shoot by checking out the photos here.

Huge thanks go out to Wedding Chicks for this opportunity, and also Kimie for taking these amazing photos.
