Getting Your Rings Down the Aisle

March 23rd, 2015

There are many ways to have your wedding rings sent down the aisle, but what are your options? Here is a mix of our favorite classic, and more unique ways of getting your wedding bands up to the altar, and onto your finger!

Help from the Little Ones

A traditional choice for getting your rings down the aisle is to have a young child from your family act as a flower girl, or ring bearer.

A ring bearer is a cute classic option and is a great way to incorporate a ring pillow that matches the décor of your wedding. We also love the idea of having fun with your ring bearer and having them act as the “ring security.” For this idea you can have your ring bearer carry the rings in a special “lock box” or briefcase marked for the occasion!

If you have a special little lady acting as the flower girl you can have her carry up your rings while spreading petals.  Incorporate your wedding flowers by tying your rings to an easy to hold flower ball.

If your ring bearer or flower girl is too young to walk down the aisle on their own decorate a wagon or buggy with flowers or in colors that match your ceremony. Add a fun sign like “here comes the bride” to announce your walk!

Man’s Best Friend

Another fun option for getting your rings down the aisle it to have your dog carry them. Tie the rings to your furry buddy’s collar and make sure to add some pretty color coordinating flowers as well! We are wild about the photo below of this man’s best friend as ring bearer from Wild Flowers Inc.

My personal favorite way of walking your rings down the aisle is the trend of having your grandmother as your flower girl! We absolutely love the idea of adding a twist to a role that is usually reserved for the little ones of the family. Let your grandmothers be in on the ceremony fun and it will be a sweet moment for your entire family! We are smitten with the photo below of the bride and groom’s grandmothers as flower girls from The New York Times.

There are many ways to get your rings down the aisle, which option will you choose?
