Wedding Goodie Bag Ideas

November 30th, 2015

We all can remember the excitement of receiving those fun goodie bags upon leaving childhood parties. Well, it’s safe to say that goodie bags will forever be a highlight of any major event, no matter how old we get. Wedding goodie bags are a sophisticated upgrade to the childhood classic. Swap the kazoos for a fancy bottle of wine or a mix of your favorite love songs – the options and themes are endless and can easily be customized!

Your Favorite Things
Have your own Oprah moment by gifting your guests with everything that you love. Some ideas include giving everyone a gift card to your favorite hometown restaurant or a handcrafted recipe book filled with your favorite dishes. These goodie bags are gifts that keep on giving because you won’t have to worry about getting anything less than your own favorite goodies when holidays and birthdays roll around!

Destination Survival Kit
Welcome your guests to your destination wedding location with a tourist survival kit. Fill a fabulous tote with tools that will help everyone navigate the city or country. Include items such as maps, a compass, or a language dictionary. Keep everyone on track by equipping them with a wedding program and an itinerary of the week’s festivities.

Sports Rivalry
There’s nothing better than a good ole’ sports rivalry. Create goodie bags that reflect the sports showdown in your home. Fill two opposing sets of goodie bags with water bottles, flags, blankets and other sports paraphernalia that are decorated with the logo and colors of the bride and grooms favorite sports team. Allow your guests to choose which team they’ll be repping throughout the night and let the friendly competition begin!

When it comes to creating your wedding gift bags, it’s time to get creative! Go big or keep it intimate, as long as you’re having fun. Give your guests a bag of goodies they’ll want to hold onto forever (except for the yummy ones)!

Richmond Wedding: Jennifer and Kent

November 23rd, 2015

We are so thrilled to share another beautiful wedding with you all. Jennifer and Kent’s special day was absolutely heartwarming and filled with love. Join us as we skip down memory lane with Jennifer and Kent’s lovely Richmond wedding!

1

Jennifer and Kent pulled off their classic looks with amazing style and grace. Jennifer was a complete showstopper in her beautiful lace gown carrying a lush bouquet while Kent wowed in his navy blue tux.

2

How sweet of the Grahams to pay homage to their union with graham crackers! We also can’t get enough this gorgeous wedding cake. What better way to dress up an impressive, 4-tier cake than with fresh florals!

The centerpieces were nothing short of amazing! The reception featured both small and large centerpieces overflowing with hydrangeas and roses.

Once the clock struck 10:45, the newlyweds received a spectacular send off from friends and family complete with sparklers and a ton of well wishes! Congratulations Jennifer and Kent – we hope you both are enjoying a fruitful and loving marriage!

The 2nd Annual CultshaXpo

June 20th, 2012

The CultshaXpo is an event that helps to shine a spotlight on the amazing non-profit and cultural organizations in the Richmond area. The event brings together arts, history, science and family fun for one day, under one roof.

The event is Saturday, June 23, from 10am to 5pm at the Science Museum of Virginia and is packed with tons of fun for adults and kids! The event includes free admission to the Science Museum of Virginia and complimentary performances from local artisans and culture organizations, which includes music, visual art, theater and dance. You can also enjoy IMAX films and the newest addition to the museum, the Body Worlds & the Brain exhibition, for an additional fee.

A great way to enjoy the event even more is to become a member of Cultsha. Cultsha is an organization for people who would like to take part in sharing and strengthening Richmond area arts and culture.  To become a member is free, however they would like you to invest in local area artists and cultural organizations that you believe in and Cultsha and CultureWorks also accepts donations. During the CulshaXpo, members will be given “CultshaBucks” to donate to any participating organization of their choice and at the end of the event each organization will be given grants in the amount of CultshaBucks that they have collected.

Enjoy a fun event that gives back to the Richmond non-profit community and enjoy the culture, science and history of the area!

Richmond Flying Squirrels vs. Portland Sea Dogs

June 14th, 2012

The Richmond Flying Squirrels made their return to the Diamond earlier this year and with the season in full swing there is no better time to come on out to the ballpark and enjoy some true Americana fun!

Starting this Friday, June 15, and continuing on through Sunday afternoon the Flying Squirrels will be taking on the Portland Sea Dogs. This is a perfect way to spoil Dad this Father’s Day weekend with some family time and baseball. The Flying Squirrels are playing for bragging rights with two losses and one win against the Sea Dog’s last weekend. The squirrels will be practicing all week to ensure a triple win this weekend.

The Diamond has made a few upgrades this year that are sure to make a better experience for all. The MBA Party Decks are a wonderful way for friends, family or coworkers to sit together and enjoy the game in comfort. These are group-seating areas located in the upper deck of the Diamond that has a great view right behind home plate! The decks can seat up to 24 guests with your very own party attendant to help facilitate your every need from drinks to food. The seats in this area are cushioned for comfort for those long games that go into extra innings. Party decks are $380 per group but are well worth the money to relax and enjoy the game.

We hope you come out and support the Squirrels this weekend and treat Dad to some fun!

HMM in the News!

June 5th, 2012

It’s that time again- wedding magazine season! We love seeing our favorite issues hot off the presses- so much inspiration! The latest issue of Richmond Bride Magazine is no exception as it’s chock full of swoon worthy details!

When you pick up your copy, be sure to check out page 80, as our very own Paula Ramirez assisted with the article Tick-Tock Couples! Keeping the Reception’s Timeline on Track.  We know first hand that a successful wedding reception is due in part to things running well behind the scenes so we were happy to lend some insight from our own experiences.

We were also thrilled to see that an image from the Summer/Smith wedding (courtesy of Hayes and Fisk the Art of Photography) in one of the latest Wedology 101 columns in the Richmond Times Dispatch. What a lovely wedding to revisit!

Our thanks to Richmond Bride Magazine for the opportunity as well as the Richmond Times Dispatch for the inclusion!
